PUZZLE LEFT INCOMPLETE...

Who am I? I wish I knew
As of now, have no clue.
Sometimes I sway like tender breeze
Sometimes a raging river
& other times keep figuring out whether
- I belong hither or thither.

Sometimes I am quiet, as dumb as a rock.
Other times leave few words unsaid.
Sometimes patience manifests its highest form
while other times temper creates a storm!

Sometimes I feel on top of the world
Sometimes feel crest-fallen
Sometimes a cheerful disposition
Sometimes face gloomy and swollen.

Though at all times I try to maintain myself a good human,
Sometimes defeat the purpose, sometimes win, though never waver.
Like a puzzle left uncompleted, pieces of my traits need to be fitted......

ALL I WANT IS EVERYTHING

Howdy guys! Birthdays are always special and more so the poems you write on that special day... Sharing with you the birthday special poem at 'the speed of light'... Read and enjoy...

Recitation on YouTube - All I want is Everything!

ALL I WANT IS EVERYTHING

Don't wanna leave no stone unturned
Witness the last ray of sunlight
Watch that blush in your cheeks long before gone
I wanna travel at the speed of light!!!

Wanna run as far as my feet take me
Wanna sing and dance till my hair're grey or am gone
Wanna write till my hands hurt
Yet give words to zillion thoughts, ahh! as they reap anew dawn

Wanna live and love till hell breaks loose
Or better still till heavens prove their might
Wanna play every sport that was invented
Wanna drown in the rising tide!!!

All I want is a life lived
And a death that's not regretted
And then a trip to heaven or hell
Or whatever that follows after it!!!

THE WORK-OUT RAP ANTHEM

For those extra pounds that are stubborn frequent visitors... :P

THE WORK OUT RAP ANTHEM

Cut those carbs, shudder the flabs, tone your abs.
Put less cheese, no fries please, hunger ohh cease!
Lift those weights,stock on dates, pump your pulse rates.
Dump junkies, skip trips to Dunkies, toil-o-chunkies!

Hop and squat, kill that fat, strech on the mat.
Consider a deal, skip a meal, sprint and kneel.
Keep stress at bay, slog and play, thus less will you weigh.

Skip a car ride, map the hill side, go cycling downside.
Savour short frequent meals, fresh fruits n veggies everyday's deals, get the sporty feels
Jog and run, make it fun, with the rising sun.
Nights be well-slept, routine well-kept, target will be well met.

UNSUNG HEROES

Saluting the hero in each-one of us...

UNSUNG HEROES

(or/and)

We are the unsung heroes,
Our stories the world barely echoes;
Fighting each day with our complete might,
Conquering it all, savouring all with delight.
We are unparallel unsung heroes in every right!!

Our day starts with the stroke of sunlight,
And ends late with the exhaustion of sight.
We are in motherly affection, fatherly devotion, sibling's adoration;
We are in a soldier's struggle, a specially abled's fumble, a toddler's mumble.
We are unparallel unsung heroes in every crumble!!

Without our contribution the world will fall apart;
Yet without it's recognition we labour through our heart.
For - it's not recognition we seek, not admiration nor adoration,
Our every action or deed with the aim of a better creation;
We are the unsung heroes in every situation!!

For we are not in a celebrity's publicity, we are in a common man's audacity.
Unsung heroism is a ritual, in the life of every individual...
It is in a nation's battle with disability, every old man's struggle with senility, your fight with frailing agility;
Yes, WE are the unparallel UNSUNG HEROES through our humble ability!!!

FEW HOURS BEFORE THE EXAMINATION DATE

This completes the hattrick...

FEW HOURS BEFORE THE EXAMINATION DATE

Temperatures rising, blood pressures crashing...
Perspiration developing, tensions hovering
Such scenario building, before the examination date.

Failures expected, errors predestined;
Voices clogged, life fogged
Such scenario building, before the examination date.

Why oh why the examinations happen?
Causing distress, ohh chuckin' crappin'
Such scenarios built, on the examination date.

Merriment bubbling, temperatures settling
O my! O my! ecstasy wavering;
Such is the scenario, after the examination date.

ON THE THIRD HOUR OF EXAMINATION

And, another!! Seems I got the hang of exAMpectations (or did I?)...

ON THE THIRD HOUR OF EXAMINATION

"Finally! done with my exam;"
"Really? so fast," remarked ma'm
"When one knows nothing one does fast"
was my reply, response thus - "Oh, how would you last!'

Clenched within the empty moment
Times so void my heart does lament
But the mind always finds occupation
As I retire alas, yet - in FULL justification!

Times moved slowly and so did my hands
Words got stuck in mouth, toxic became the glands
As I somehow jotted my utter exasperation
One can find reading this a recreation!!

EXamPECTATIONS

Again, back to school days... I composed this poem delving into the then students' (referring to myself and those around me) brain...

EXPECTATIONS

"How was your exam? I fared mine well."
"O! mine was terrible! I must tell."
"The results when declared will seal my fate;"
are the responses of the students after the examination date.

Its a game of expectations, no more no less,
that always decides a student's happiness
rather than the marks he gets.

One who thinks he fares well may actually get less,
than the one who terribly fared & found difficult to progress.
So best is never to expect anything
And wait till the results tell everything.

In this way you won't grieve if you fare bad,
neither will good result get to your head.
After all, marks are just to test one's knowledge,
not to trouble oneself to the razor's edge.

FAREWELL 2011

From school days, travelling down the memory lane to college days... This poem I wrote bidding farewell to our immediate seniors.

FAREWELL 2011

Farewell to thee, farewell to thee;
Farewell budding engineers to be!!
Each had a dream in his eyes for so long,
And laboured for years so nothing went wrong.

Each student had a different song,
Various thoughts echoing for long;
Some had grace and some had voice,
Talents galore with varied choice.

They proved their mettle time and again,
Brought glory to college and heaps of fame.
Now, they proved themselves this time again,
With campus selections the results did rain.

With all hearts filled with joy and zeal,
We wish luck to all and happiness to feel.
Farewell to thee, farewell to thee;
Farewell budding engineers to be!!

SHARING

One of the poems I wrote in my school days and recited and was awarded. Recently too, I recited the poem in GIFLIF (Great Indian film and literature festival) Slam Poetry contest, few weeks back. Hope you all like it. Don't forget to comment. After all it's all about 'sharing' (your thoughts)...

SHARING

The recording of the poem's recitation at GIFLIF -

“This violin belongs to me, you see!” my brother yelled at me.
The obstinacy in his eyes was indeed unbearable for me.

I tried to calm him, with all my might; but that’s easier said than done.

So, I used words, my last weapon, to make his temper run.

“Sharing; a synonym of caring, is what it means to me.
So, if you have a heart, it’s said, you have an urge to part.
Sharing is like the river pure, flowing from mighty mountains,
Feeding its water to the plains, giving life to the grains.

What if the warmth of the sun, it had never bestowed on?
The darkest hour would lead to another, not a marvelous dawn.
Think of the dried landscapes, the barren deserts formed;
If the mountains had been, ill-conceited and mean – sounds like the dooms-day indeed.

So lend a helping hand to few and life will be a dream to you.
Share your troubles, your joys, your griefs and see your happiness increase.
Meanness spells an eclipse of greed, so share you must and share you should,
And be the human made by God, above all creation.”

With these words, I saw my brother with tears rolling down his eyes;
Handing his violin to me he agreed, he was sorry and aggrieved,
And I hugged him and said, “It was human to make mistakes”,
To which, he said, “My dear sister, your lesson would I always share,
As the person who shares, indeed, is the person who really cares.”

DREAM

Hi all! I wish to share another poem I wrote. Please read and don't forget to comment...

DREAM

I slept and dreamt a little dream
A world where anything was possible, one was his own deity supreme
I woke dismayed on my bed
No Jeannie, no magic just pillows overhead

I dreamt again and again and began

Folk tales of kings and mighty clan
Few broken pledges some future promises

Each dream possessed a thousand wishes

What if the mighty dreams we dreamt did fill

An existence - their own; than just a moment's thrill

Dreams dreamt at dusk, fulfilled at dawn

How pleasing would the night be witnessing a profound morn

If only what we dreamt we got

Treasures of gold each hand would have sought

alas, life's mysteries thus could not be solved

Dreams more than a bubble's existence, O how we wished we could be God!

STARS IN THE NIGHT SKY

Hello everyone! First blog posts are always special to the blogger. I thought of sharing a poem I wrote in my first post. Hope reading it turns out to be special (to the reader as much as the blogger) as well. Please post your comments as it turns out I cannot actually see who has +1ed the post...

STARS IN THE NIGHT SKY

Like little diamonds in the sky,
Twinkle the stars as night goes by;
Yet what wealth these diamonds bring,
is beyond the art of questioning.

When eyes be sent to the distant sky-
Great stories reveal as time passes by;
For heaven is but a starry world and hell to us so
And with the stars twinkle the stories of the dead low.

Stars help those lost in their quests
And as a compass they direct.
For when in need nothing helps
As does the silent guidance of stars.

As night proceeds and with it rays of light darken,
Stars be the sole ray of hope for everyone to lighten.
And once again a scary night becomes a starry night,
When and only when gather the stars upon the night.

Gratitude

Whatever there is, is a gift. The present we must value - every present moment. But as humans we tend to forget it. Take everyth...
